GibbsCAM supports the APT implementation and provides the option to generate output in DMG MORI's APT-CL (automatically programmed tool – cutter location) format for MORI SEIKI multitasking and multi-axis machines. Instead, DMG MORI provides a post-processor and simulation package for its own CNC machines. The standardization initiative, through the DMG MORI APT implementation, is intended to eliminate the need for each CAM provider to develop a custom post-processor and machine simulation model for each machine. Visitors are encouraged to register in advance, at the event site. Manufacturing Days will be held November 12-15, 2013, at the DMG MORI Manufacturing and Digital Technology Laboratory, 3805 Faraday Avenue, Davis, CA. Among the many GibbsCAM features to be demonstrated are its advanced 3D high speed machining and GibbsCAM programming of MORI SEIKI multi-spindle, multi-turret, multi-tasking machines (MTM), including use of GibbsCAM's Sync Manager to optimize turret utilization and cycle times. Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM ® software for programming CNC machine tools and a Cimatron (NASDAQ: CIMT) company, today announced that they support all MORI SEIKI milling, turning, mill-turn and multitasking (MTM) machine tools to be demonstrated at DMG MORI's Manufacturing Days, a 4-day event at the machine tool builder's California research and development facility, November 12-15.
